Christchurch (New Zealand): At least 40 persons were killed and 20 others seriously injured in a terror attack at two mosques in Christchurch this morning. Police has arrested four people, including one woman.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh cricket team has escaped unscathed after the deadly shooting at a mosque.

Most members of the team were on the way to the mosque in Christchurch and were about to go inside when the incident happened. However, players are safe. Bangla cricketer Tamim Iqbal has said in a tweet that it was a frightening experience.

According to local media reports, maximum casualties are at the Al Noor mosque. Another mosque have been evacuated.

The casualties could have been catastrophic had the the police nod have defused a number of improvised explosive devices found on vehicles after the mosque shootings. At that time, thousands of school children were holding a rally for action on climate change at Cathedral Square.
